This project is the transformation of the dated 1950’s Nestle corporate headquarters building in White Plains into a vibrant, up-to-date and sought after commercial office building. The building's exterior has been transformed by the addition of high-pressure laminate rain screen panels with large illuminated numbers creating a strong graphic identify for the re-imagined structure. Envisioned as a prototype for the renovation and reuse of other mid-century buildings, the exterior panel design is carried into the Lobby connecting inside and out.
Program:
The program called for updating the building’s exterior facades, renovating the Lobby, creating a large green roof terrace, renovating the existing Cafeteria with new direct access from the Lobby and adding a new Gym with Locker Rooms as well as other tenant amenities.
Design:
The use of “wood-like” high-pressure laminate panels as a rain screen installed on top of the existing beige brick exterior, creates a more inviting and up-to-date appearance for the building. The building’s main Lobby is likewise characterized by real wood panels that carry the exterior design inside. A new axial extension of the Lobby connects to building amenities which include a Mailroom, a Conference Room for tenant use and the renovated Cafeteria.
